as you can see, we had to dig down, and get rid of the front door, which became our bathroom window. The old garage underneath, became our new kitchen, and living room.

It also allowed me to have a little garden right outside my kitchen window, incorporating a little wildlife pond, which i can see with out leaving my kitchen, i love seeing little frogs sunning themselves, and tadpoles swimming, and newts, we have lots of differently coloured newts!!

We had to replace all the windows and doors, we got double glazed exotic wooden ones, U.P.V.C would not have worked, in our soon to be rustic cabin... I do actually prefer u.p.v.c but it just wouldn't have worked, I don't like the maintenance aspect of wooden windows, but they have been in now for nearly 8 years and we just give them a yearly stain and varnish..
