My kitchen as was, was located on the now top floor of our new house, originally a bungalow, we had now converted it to a two storey cottage, so now the new kitchen was on the ground floor, here are some pictures before ...

The bottom picture was the old garage which we converted, into our new kitchen, it was dark, damp, cold, and very smelly. The previous owner had used it for all his tools, and there was a huge table, and an old fire stove, and numerous fridges and freezers, which we found out later, had been used to house dead animals he had hunted with the local "chasse" an old custom here. Men can hunt Boar, Deer, Rabbit,( but not Foxes ) etc from October to February, they can only hunt Foxes with the express permission of the local mayors (mairie ) foxes are protected until they seem to be getting out of hand, taking livestock and being a general nuisance...
