Hi all, I just wanted to tell you about this unit I was given this week. My friend is moving house and didnt want it anymore, it was a rather dirty brown colour, and a bit smelly inside, sort of musty. It had been in her garage for ages. Anyway, i said I would like it, for my kitchen. I did have a small butchers block, but had seriously outgrown it, with all my recipe books and gadgets etc, that us girls store in the cupboards, well I was running out of space, so i decided a bigger unit was the thing. So i took it and sanded, painted and varnished it and i have to say im very pleased with the outcome, its ideal for all my stuff!!! It even has a baguette drawer!!! which i lined with an old linen basket liner so i can wash it. Its amazing what you can do with a bit of old paint etc, we put a new hook on the end, but im not sure what to hang there, perhaps a tea towel or oven mitt. Hope you like it too.
